Run by the famed Taj Group, the Lake
Palace Hotel, Udaipur, is located on an island in the
picturesque Lake Pichola. The USP of the hotel is the fact
that it is housed in one of the former royal residences in
Udaipur. The Palace was built in the eighteenth century by
Jagat Singh II, the king of Mewar. The hotel is spread
over an area of four acres – more than enough room to
stretch your legs on a reclining deck chair by a pool and
relax!
Accommodation
Lake Palace Hotel, Udaipur, has 83 rooms and suites. Of
these, 33 are luxury rooms, which look out onto the lake.
The 33 Palace Rooms, apart from the basic amenities, offer
specially designed bathrooms and lounge spaces. The Grand
Royal Suites, numbering 10, are often booked months in
advance, thanks to the ornate interiors and lavish décor.
Then there are special themed suites, the popular ones
being Udai Mahal, Kamal Mahal, Sarva Ritu, and
Mayur Mahal.
These suites are done in the most
tasteful manner, each depicting a special theme such as
seasons, colors, water, or birds. The amenities include
Jacuzzis, and massage services. |
